FREE FILMMAKING & NETWORK EVENT IN MAIDSTONE
Hazlitt Theatre, Earl Street, Maidstone, Kent ME14 1PL

Date: 16th July

The film competition expanded into a fully-fledged festival in 2006 with the introduction of a series of free filmmaking workshops.

Beeping Bush hosted a one-day Introduction to digital filmmaking” workshop and networking drop-in event for all who were interested in how to produce a micro-budget short film or documentary.

The morning began with an introduction and insight into Beeping Bush followed by screenings and Q&A discussions of previously made local films some of which were brought in by the participants.

Award-winning Dominic Currie, who first cut his teeth in filmmaking as a regular and very successful 2 Days Later/Laughter competition entrant and winner of the Mark Ravenhill Guardian You-Tube Film Challenge 2008, gave an enlighten talk about his films.

In the afternoon there was an introduction to camera, lighting, sound and editing techniques and participants learnt how to make best use of their own and hired equipment.
