2 Days Later, Kent’s biggest Short Film Competition, screening and award ceremony, returns this year to the Theatre Royal, Margate with another creepy programme of Horror shorts, just bursting with all new twisted interpretations of the genre, as the centre piece of Margate’s first ever Halloween Horror Weekend event.

To mark the film competition’s 10th Anniversary year and to celebrate Dreamland’s cinematic heritage Beeping Bush has partnered with The Dreamland Trust to expand the Hallowe'en film screening into a full programme of Margate Halloween Horror activities from 26th – 4th November 2012.

2 Days Later is a UK film industry recognised 48-hour horror genre filmmaking challenge. The one day 2DL12 Hallowe'en Screening and award ceremony will feature 40 short films from this year's competition and attracts over 300 film enthusiasts both nationally and internationally.

Margate Halloween Horror Feast, in partnership with The Film Factory CIC, opens the celebrations on Friday 26 October with a Drive-In Movie Night screening in the Lido car park, Cliftonville of the horror comedy, Zombieland (Cert15), where the only safe refuge is in a zombie free amusement park.

The Dreamland Trust’s Dreamland Revisited exhibition of archive images of Dreamland’s Grade II* listed cinema building and photographer, Sam Bénard’s haunting images of Dreamland in the present opens on Friday 26 October and runs until Sunday 4 November in the Harbour Arm Gallery, Margate.

On Sunday 28 October at the Theatre Royal, a special matinee screening of the newly released (through Icon Film Distribution/Lionsgate) HD restored 1957 Hammer classic, The Curse of Frankenstein, plus a screen talk on The History of the Horror Movie Genre is being presented by the legendary British film studio.

The Tom Thumb Theatre, Cliftonville presents Club Hydropathe: A Halloween Special on Monday 29 October. The usual Hydropathe fare of off-beat cinema, wayward sounds and frequent surprises - with a ghoulish twist. Then on Halloween, Wednesday 31 October, the Tom Thumb Theatre’s free Ghoulish Ghost Stories are for the whole family to enjoy together. Put on your witches hat and grab your broomstick to win a prize for the creepiest costume.

Also look out for flash mob events where vampires, Goths and ghouls come out where least expected, the Crowning of the King and Queen of Horror 2012 on the 2DL Gala Film night and other things that go bump in the night!
